😅😅😅 . . . . Tortoises are some of the longest-living animals on Earth, with many species living for over 100 years and some reaching more than 150 years. They are land-dwelling reptiles known for their strong, dome-shaped shells, which are made of bone and are permanently attached to their bodies. Contrary to popular belief, a tortoise cannot leave its shell because it is part of its skeleton. Unlike turtles, tortoises spend almost their entire lives on land and are built for walking rather than swimming. They move slowly, but their sturdy legs and powerful claws help them travel across rough terrain and dig burrows for shelter. Most tortoises are herbivores, feeding on grasses, leaves, flowers, fruits, and other plants, which provide the nutrients they need to stay healthy. Tortoises are known for their calm nature, excellent sense of direction, and remarkable ability to survive in harsh environments. They can store water in their bodies and go for long periods with little food when necessary. Although they may seem quiet and inactive, tortoises are intelligent animals that can recognize familiar people, learn simple routines, and continue growing throughout much of their lives.
