PANAMA CITY, Fla. — On July 1, 2026, an officer-involved shooting occurred in the 1900 block of State Avenue in Panama City, Florida, near the Audubon Nature Preserve.Dispatch audio released by the Panama City Police Department begins with an officer reporting a vehicle accident, noting the vehicle taking off, and later reporting that it had crashed into the woods. The officer requested emergency medical services. The officer subsequently reported shots fired and that the suspect was in custody.
