Figure 02 takes its final jump straight into molten steel. After becoming part of some of Figure’s biggest milestones, the second generation humanoid was retired at a steel foundry in Finland, where its melted metal will be turned into limited edition souvenirs. A real life ending that feels straight out of a sci-fi movie. What makes the moment even more remarkable is the environment it was operating in. Figure says the extreme heat and strong electromagnetic fields caused problems for cameras and other electronic equipment, while Figure 02 continued operating normally with its own AI program. And yes this was real, not AI generated.

There’s something pretty great about watching a sea otter do absolutely nothing. Sea otters spend a surprising amount of their day resting. Living in cold water is incredibly demanding, and unlike seals and whales, they don’t have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm. Instead, they rely on the densest fur of any animal on Earth and a very high metabolism. All that eating, diving, grooming and staying warm takes energy, so when the work is done, it’s time to shut things down for a while. Not a bad place for a nap either.
