Phoenix Police released body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting involving a man wanted on felony warrants out of Tolleson after reportedly pointing a gun at officers during a previous arrest attempt. Police said officers located the suspect around 10 a.m. on April 29 near Fifth Avenue and McDowell Road. Surveillance video allegedly showed the man pointing a handgun twice while officers were nearby. Body camera footage shows an officer exiting his vehicle and firing within seconds after the suspect allegedly raised the gun. A second officer also fired his rifle after exiting a nearby van. Officers then gave repeated commands for the suspect to drop the weapon, and a less-lethal launcher was later used when he reportedly continued holding the gun. The suspect was transported to a hospital where he later died.
