Two drivers engaged in a high-speed street race caused a violent crash in east Reno late Saturday night. An Audi RS5 and a Porsche 911 GTS were traveling south on South McCarran Boulevard around 11:50 p.m. on June 20. The vehicles ran a red light at the intersection with South Rock Boulevard and struck a Toyota pickup truck that had the right of way. All six occupants of the pickup truck were hospitalized. An 84-year-old in the truck remains in critical condition. The juvenile driver of the Porsche and the adult driver and passenger in the Audi were also taken to a hospital.
