Every time we share one of these giant lobsters, we see lots of comments saying, “Put it back!” 🦞💙 I totally understand where those comments come from—people see a lobster this big and want it to keep living.. The reality is that we buy our lobster directly from commercial fishermen. By the time these lobsters arrive at our shop, they’ve already been legally harvested and purchased. Once we open those crates, there isn’t a way to return a lobster to the ocean, and throwing away a $200 lobster wouldn’t make sense either.. There is a market for these larger lobsters, just as there is for smaller ones We share these giants because they’re incredible to see and not something you come across every day. They’re a reminder of just how amazing our East Coast waters are🦞
