A Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 returned to Mashhad on Tuesday after a tire problem and engine trouble shortly after takeoff, Iranian officials said. The domestic flight had left Mashhad’s Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport bound for Kermanshah. Officials said a tire’s surface separated during takeoff and the crew reported an engine problem, producing intense vibrations. Video shared on social media showed ceiling panels coming loose in the cabin as passengers shouted. The jet landed safely. Mashhad airport official Hassan Jafari said no one was injured, and passengers later continued to Kermanshah on another flight. Sepehran Airlines is a Mashhad-based Iranian carrier. It operates Boeing 737 jets on domestic routes.
