Harrah, OK, October 01, 2026 — A 24-year-old man identified as Rayven Wooten is accused of attempting to steal copper from a vacant home in Oklahoma County before escaping through a closed glass window as a deputy tried to take him into custody, according to reports and the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a reported burglary at the property on Sunset Lane, near Harrah and Britton roads. The responding deputy discovered that the rear door had been forced open and encountered Wooten inside, allegedly removing copper from appliances and walls. Body-camera footage shows the deputy entering the residence with his firearm drawn and ordering the suspect to turn around and kneel. The man did not comply. After the deputy again ordered him to get on his knees, the suspect moved into another room, ran toward a window and crashed through the glass. He escaped before the deputy could apprehend him. Authorities searched the surrounding area using a patrol vehicle and a drone and checked a nearby residence, but the initial search did not locate him. Investigators subsequently identified the suspect using a backpack left behind at the property that contained a California-issued driver’s license. KFOR reported on October 13 that Wooten had been taken into custody and charged with burglary, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer. An Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told KOCO that the suspect had a prior criminal history in Oklahoma County involving theft-related offenses, drug-related matters and an assault charge. 📷 @police_incidents
